CONGRATULATIONS YOU’VE ‘BEATEN THE RUSH’ TO SIGN UP FOR RUSH BLACKPOOL…

RUSH will be a dance, light and projection mapping masterpiece in Blackpool during the Lightpool Festival on October 26 2018.

RUSH is an outdoor dance spectacular, created by Southpaw Dance Company, commissioned by LeftCoast and co-produced with Event International, with a community cast of over 100 performing alongside the professional dancers and production team.

RUSH has previously been presented in South Tyneside and Hull take a look at the short Hull film and be inspired to get involved.

RUSH tells the stories that matter to Blackpool and Wyre residents in a huge release of energy and creativity. RUSH develops into a celebration, highlighting the power within community – Blackpool always keeping the lights on.

Set on the site of the former police station on Bonny Street, see this Blackpool landmark in a whole new light. The police tower will be transformed and dancers will take over the space in an explosion of movement and music.

Audience – bear witness to the revolution and register for our pre-‘sale’ (tickets are free of charge but numbers are strictly limited) and be the first to hear when ticket registration is open.

Dance participation – join our community dance cast, no experience necessary and open to all skill levels and anyone over the age of 16. You’ll be working alongside professional dancers and the production team to create a uniquely Blackpool experience. Join our crew and have an experience like no other – make friends and express yourself by being part of something big. We ask all participants to take part in regular weekly workshops throughout September and October, as well as the dress rehearsal and show date. This opportunity is suitable for anybody wanting to try something new, You don’t need to have had any dance experience and it’s open to all levels of fitness. Workshops will be held at a variety of locations and times in Blackpool and Fleetwood. Event volunteer – we can’t do shows like this without our volunteers – they make the show. Roles include stewarding, ticketing, artist liaison, green room assistance and evaluation. We provide expenses and you get chance to meet the artists and we even throw in a t-shirt!
