Are you aged 13+ enjoy DJing, music production and recording? Would you like to premiere your work on the radio and be part of a mini festival? Maybe you want to express yourself through graffiti? Come and join us for #ProjectHaweside this summer.

Housed in a shipping container on Crossland Road Park young people will be able to take part in creative workshops such as graffiti, podcasts, lyric writing and music, alongside internationally recognised recording artist Danny ‘Falz’ Fahey (TPG).

LeftCoast, in partnership with Blackpool Coastal Housing, have commissioned Danny to lead the free summer young people living in Haweside. Danny said, “Working on Project Haweside over the summer is going to be an experience, delivering anything creative in open spaces is always a good vibe. Hopefully the weather will be good and we’ll create some special art and music.”

At the end of the summer a small micro festival will be held with sound and a DJ, where participants can the work that they have created with the community.

Workshops will take place on the following dates between 4 and 7 PM:

28 July – Thurs. Audio podcast & graffiti

29 July – Fri. Audio podcast & lyric writing

4 Aug – Thurs. Audio podcast, sound & music

5 Aug – Fri. Audio podcast & graffiti

11 Aug – Thurs. Audio podcast & lyric writing

12 Aug – Fri. Audio podcast, sound & music

16 Aug – Tues. Audio podcast & graffiti

17 Aug – Wed. Audio podcast & lyric writing

23 Aug – Tues. Audio podcast sound & music, flows exposed

You do not need to book onto the workshops you can just turn up on the day.

The finale micro festival will be held on 24 Aug – Wed between 1-6pm.

Cath Powell, LeftCoast’s Creative Community Engagement Officer, said, “I am delighted that LeftCoast have been able to commission Danny Fahey for project Haweside. Danny is an international recording artist working across various genres so he will have no problem in engaging the young people of Haweside on this project. I think the young people are in for a very productive summer.”
